Waterfall hikes are popular and the start of the 2000+ mile Appalachian trail is on Springer Mountain in Fannin county.

Water Sports

Fishing, Boating, Tubing

Blue Ridge is known as the trout fishing capital of Georgia for good reason.  The Toccoa River flows toward Tennessee where it is known as the Ocoee River.  It is well known for its trout fly fishing.  The same river is perfect for a cooling ride down in an inner tube!  Fighting Town creek is also excellent for catching trout (and it is close to Solitude!)

Bass fish are the big catch on Lake Blue Ridge.  Local fishing guides are available.  You can also rent kayaks and paddle boards on the lake as well as boats at the Blue Ridge Marina.

Blue Ridge has many typical fast food restaurants you see all over the country but the local restaurants are excellent and range from casual to classy.  BBQ, pizza, and local southern cuisine should satisfy even the pickiest eaters!
